December 17th - Orgeon Police, Florida Police, and a Gainesville Murder

 

Oregon has put some constraints on what officers can ask during traffic stops. A court ruling has decreed that officers are only allowed to ask things relating to the traffic stop in the state. They have to establish probable cause to ask for the right to search a car. Silence is also not considered probable cause.

A reminder here in Florida. Get used to not being on your phone in school zones or construction zones. You have to be using a hands free device. Police will start handing out actual tickets for the infractions instead of reminders on January 1st.

Authorities are saying they have a suspect in the Gainesville Pine Ridge Apartment Shooting. 28-year-old Cornelius Brister is the man they think did it.
