July 16th - Sentencing, a Rescue, and Cheesecake

James Fields, who ran a car through a crowd of people in 2017, was given a second life sentence in prison. He killed one person and injured dozens. The victims were counter-protesting a “unite the right” rally in Charlottesville, and James was a known white supremacist. The first life sentence was given by a federal judge, and the second was from a state judge.

A chain of people linked arm to arm and reached out into the ocean to save at least one person dragged out to sea in Panama City. Hurricane Barry made waters in the Gulf very dangerous and there were reportedly around 40 rescues by authorities over the weekend.

We've got a date for when the Cheesecake Factory will be open in Gainesville! September 17th is when the doors will open, and it will be in the Butler Town Center. Apparently the company will be hiring around 300 people.
