Phone companies have rolled out 5G speeds in a few cities, and reviewers are saying some pretty wild things.
For instance, Chris Welch from The Verge tried out the new Samsung Galaxy 10 5G phone in Chicago, and reached a gigabyte download speeds. He managed to download an episode of The Office in 8 seconds, and a feature length movie in a minute and a half.
5G is still a long way off from being as widespread as LTE, but this is a taste of things to come for the general public. For now, you have to have an extremely expensive phone, live in a specific area, and be up close to the 5G nodes.
