Coming standard for the 2020 Chevy Traverse, Malibu and Colorado, the new feature won’t allow you to shift into gear if you’re not buckled up. It comes as part of the “Teen Driver” package, and parents can turn it on in the settings.

The Teen Driver package also gives parents the ability to a maximum speed, speed alerts, a driving report card, and more. Parent's will set a PIN number if their teens are particularly reckless.
