When Disney+ first launched it came with every episode of the Simpsons. What irked some devoted fans though, was the fact that the older episodes were forced into a widescreen format.
Not only were fans not getting to watch the show as it originally aired, but the crop obscured background gags as well.
The show's executive producer Al Jean tweeted the announcement an an older tweet of a similar announcment on FXX.

As always you have been heard! @theSimpsons episodes will be available in their original 4:3 aspect ratio on #DisneyPlus beginning 5/28.
Disney has finally fixed the problem, and now you can watch the first 19 seasons on the Simpsons in the original 4:3 aspect ratio.
