The Food and Drug administration has approved the first ever treatment for peanut allergies.
Created by Aimmune Therapeutics, this new works by helping a child build immunity, so the risks of accidental exposure to peanuts are reduced, and eventually eliminated. It is not at all meant for emergency situations. Aimmune Therapeutics is also looking into other nut allergies as well.
There’s 1.6 million children allergic to peanuts.
